  • “If you want a simple watch that gives you fairly accurate heart rates, calorie burns, training records, and user changeable batteries the FT7 is a cheaper option to the FT40 and FT60 models.”

Complaints?

Some customers did not like the Polar FT7F heart rate monitor. Some customers said they didn’t like the fact that you couldn’t display your heart rate at the same time as displaying the calories you were burning. Some customers found that it kept malfunctioning quite quickly after they started using it.

Custome comments included:

  • “Frankly I was expecting a bit more from this monitor. It looks cheap compared to what you see on screen, so that was an initial disappointment. The buttons are harder to push/activate compared to others I’ve had in the past. The heart rate info is large print, so that is helpful when on the go. However, to check your time and calories, isn’t always easy because of the buttons. It’s ok for now, but may want to upgrade in the near future.”
  • “This heart rate monitor has the basic features you’d expect, nothing too fancy. The features it has work well (e.g. heart rate monitor is solid, alerts work, and data storage is adequate.) The primary complaint I have is that it is not well designed from a function standpoint. By way of example, you can’t show both heart rate and total workout time on the same screen. “
  • “I’ve only had this heart rate monitor for a few weeks and the watch is already malfunctioning. The monitor looses my heart rate or registers it at an abnormal rate (200+). I’ve tried all of the troubleshooting steps…”

Despite the complaints, the overall consensus would be that if you want a cheap basic heart monitor, you can’t go wrong with the Polar FT7F heart rate monitor.
